In the London Gazette, published on the 11th. July, 1801, it mentions that John Potter, late of Bramford, Suffolk, Hay Dealer and Common Carrier, was a prisoner in the Gaol at Ipswich, in the County of Suffolk.

I think this was regarding a debt.
